1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files, and similar technologies such as localStorage, that a website stores on your device to remember information about your visit. They can be set by us (first-party) or by a third party.
2. Why we need your consent
Storing or reading information on your device requires your prior, informed consent, unless it is strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for. That requirement comes from the ePrivacy rules (Directive 2002/58/EC) as implemented in Belgian law, in particular the Belgian Electronic Communications Act; the GDPR then determines what a valid consent looks like and how we must process any resulting personal data.
This means our strictly necessary cookies are set without consent, while every analytics or marketing cookie stays blocked until you explicitly opt in.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary — always active:
- Authentication session: keeps you signed in while you use your account. Stored in your browser for the duration of the session.
- Cookie consent record: remembers the choice you made in the banner, so we do not ask again on every page.
Analytics — off by default: would help us understand how the platform is used, in aggregate. Only placed if you switch "Analytics" on in the cookie banner.
Marketing — off by default: would let us measure how effective our outreach is. Only placed if you switch "Marketing" on in the cookie banner.
We do not currently load any third-party advertising or tracking scripts.
4. Managing your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and "Reject All" is offered with the same prominence as "Accept All".
You can also delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop you from staying signed in.
